We talked about: The Super Bowl. International nuclear possiblities, Wal-Mart. Superstitions, obsessive-compulsive behavior, and obeisance. Evan refers to 'The Intermediate Way'.

"The Intermediate Way" that Mark refers to was his title for a sense of being that I suggested was possible. The way in which we live seems to have three parts. A lower way made up of obvious decisions on human precepts such as driving or bill paying or hobby activity. It is a conscious behavior and its way is designed by men. The Higher way is that of God. He has said that certain attitudes and obediences should strike you as natural in certain circumstances. It is a conscious behavior designed by God and lived by submission to that content and Spirit. The Intermediate Way merely suggests that Nature has a program, unconscious and unrevealed, that can make a man, a man in full. It is like the line drawn that reaches inside you to say that it is (or isn't) in the right place. It is the groove. It is stepping up to the dance with more than piety and good citizenship. There is a rhythm measured out by the Earth that can be ascertained and enjoyed. It is just the whipped cream on top of a life otherwise well lived.

Evan, was Davis following the Intermediate Way when he decided to bust a move on the subway back East? An experience he refers to as "THE coolest moment of my entire life". For those who haven't read of this adventure in Davis' life I highly recommend taking the time. It's here: http://lincolndavis.blogspot.com/
