Drones Meeting: Saturday, January 28, 2012
We talked about: Are there parallels between the relationship of Christians to Christendom and sports fans to their team? Is the common grace of marriage being removed or diluted?
A private club for argumentative gentlemen.
We talked about: Are there parallels between the relationship of Christians to Christendom and sports fans to their team? Is the common grace of marriage being removed or diluted?
We talked about: What does not locking your doors do to you, say about you? Why do we use barista as a negative occupational option rather than ditch digger?
We talked about: The Gospel's intersection with individual experience. New York Times article on gift giving discussed. You can read it here. Is gift giving for the benefit of the giver as well as the receiver? Are the receiver's expectations much simpler than the givers? Are 'wish lists' a good thing?
We talked about: Rules for submitting Drones predictions were codified. 1. Only members who have attended at least one regular Drones meeting during the year in addition to the final one of the year can submit predictions. 2. Only five official predictions are accepted. 3. Any number of provisional predictions can be submitted. 4. To become official, predictions must be read, amended as needed, and approved at the first Drones meeting of the year. 5. Once approved, a prediction can not be amended. 6. A True Drone, having missed the first Drones meeting of the year, may add his approved predictions to the box during the second meeting. Predictions can not be added after the second Drones meeting of the year. Also we talked about: How far a king's authority extends into religious matters. Should we have entered World War II?
